Nvidia Invests $2 Billion in Synopsys to Supercharge AI Engineering in Major New Partnership
Nvidia Invests $2 Billion: Nvidia has announced a massive $2 billion investment in Synopsys, purchasing common stock at $414.79 per share as part of a multi-year strategic partnership aimed at transforming computing, chip design and AI-driven engineering.
Under the new alliance, Nvidia will help Synopsys accelerate its compute-intensive design tools, strengthen its agentic AI engineering capabilities, broaden cloud access, and launch joint go-to-market initiatives, the companies said Monday.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called the partnership a major leap forward for next-generation engineering, saying the combination of Nvidia’s accelerated computing and Synopsys’ design expertise will “empower engineers to invent extraordinary products that will shape our future.”
Synopsys shares spiked 7% in premarket trading, while Nvidia dipped slightly by about 1%.
The deal brings together two of the most influential players in the global AI ecosystem. Nvidia dominates the industry with its GPUs that power nearly all leading AI models, while Synopsys provides advanced electronic design automation (EDA) tools and silicon engineering services enabling companies to build AI-powered chips and products.
Synopsys CEO Sassine Ghazi said modern intelligent systems require deep integration of electronics, physics, advanced compute, and AI, making the collaboration essential for the next wave of innovation.
The partnership is non-exclusive, meaning both Nvidia and Synopsys can continue collaborating with other industry partners.
The companies will share more details during a joint press conference scheduled for 10 a.m. ET.
