IPO Rush in June: ₹19,000 Crore Raised as Investors Flock to Primary Markets
IPO Rush : The Indian primary market is witnessing a strong revival, with a surge in both mainboard and SME IPO activity this June. A total of eight large IPOs and 30 SME IPOs have hit the market, raising over ₹19,000 crore—the highest monthly capital raise through IPOs in the last six months.
Mainboard IPOs Lead the Charge
Data from Indian stock exchanges reveals that mainboard IPOs alone contributed around ₹17,688 crore, with companies capitalizing on positive investor sentiment and regulatory urgency. This spike is a sharp turnaround after relatively muted activity in the previous months.
Some of the largest IPOs this month include:
- HDB Financial Services – ₹12,500 crore
- Kalpataru Projects – ₹1,590 crore
- Oswal Pumps – ₹1,387 crore
Other mainboard listings include Ellenbarrie Industrial Gases, Sambhv Steel Tubes, and Arisinfra Solutions.
SME IPOs Hit a 9-Month High
The small and medium enterprise (SME) segment has also been vibrant, with 30 IPOs launched in June, aiming to raise ₹1,329 crore—a nine-month high. This is seen as a positive sign of broader market participation and increasing investor confidence in emerging businesses.
Analysts Advise Caution
Despite the excitement, market analysts are urging caution. Large IPOs often absorb significant market liquidity, potentially impacting secondary market volumes and performance. According to experts, a weak listing from any major IPO could spoil sentiment and create downward pressure on broader markets.
Rajnath Yadav, Senior Analyst at Choice Broking, explained that the surge is partially due to regulatory timelines. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has prompted many companies to fast-track their IPOs to avoid refiling if market conditions worsen.
“Many of these IPOs are fresh issues,” Yadav added, “which reflects immediate capital needs rather than perfect timing.”
Summary
June 2025 has emerged as a standout month for India’s IPO market, showcasing strong investor interest across both large and small offerings. However, market watchers recommend a balanced view, highlighting that sustained momentum will depend on how these IPOs perform post-listing.
